Brendan Barkume Places First in Best Resume Contest

Brendan Barkume of Sterling Heights, MI, was awarded first place in the University of Detroit Mercy Career Education Center's Best Resume contest sponsored by Quicken Loans. Barkume, is a sophomore in the College of Business Administration 5-year BS/MBA program.

For placing first in the contest Barkume had his resume featured at UDM's Winter Career Fair. The contest was open to undergraduate students of all majors and the resumes were reviewed by a panel of volunteer recruiters from area employers.

The University of Detroit Mercy is Michigan's largest private Catholic University, with more than 100 academic majors and programs. Sponsored by the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) and the Sisters of Mercy, the University has campuses located in downtown and northwest Detroit.

UDM is one of 28 Jesuit colleges and universities and the largest of 16 Mercy institutions of higher education in the United States. For the 12th consecutive year, University of Detroit Mercy is listed in the top tier of Midwest in the 2013 edition of the U.S. News and World Report's "America's Best Colleges."
